Information Technology department of Cantonment Board, Barrackpore is making continuous efforts towards computerization of all departments to provide transparency and better services to its citizens. The main objective of IT department is end to end computerization in order to promote efficiency, transparency, accountability and responsiveness.

Following are the responsibilities of IT Department:

1.RAKSHA BHOOMI: MAINTENANCE AND UPDATION OF GLR RECORDS

2.PUBLIC GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL SOFTWARE – SAMADHAN AND CPGRAMS

3.FILE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (F.M.S.)

4.DIGITIZATION OF LAND RECORDS

5.ACCRUAL BASED ACCOUNTING SYSTEM (A.B.A.S)

The DGDE envisages the introduction and successful implementation of an accrual based (double entry) accounting system, called ABAS, in an IT environment whereby day-to-day financial transactions would also be integrated in the system, in all the 62 Cantonment Boards in a definite time frame to ensure greater accuracy, transparency and efficient capital & revenue administration in the Cantonments.

6.Maintenance of Various software like Online Tax Management, Online Death Birth Software, Online Trade License, Online Booking System, etc.
